Hey everyone, sorry I haven't posted much in the last couple of days. The work grind has gotten really busy, and I am also a little sick. Plus, the battery on my computer died so I can't take it anywhere with me, and since I am rarely at the hotel this is not the most convenient thing that could have happened. Also, the internet at the hotel can be really slow in the evenings when I get home. I guess it's because everyone is on it at the same time. It can make even going on Facebook somewhat of a hassle.
Berlin is great. The weather is a bit crazy. I think the weather here goes through more changes within a day than it does in a month back home. The past couple of days I've been meeting a lot of new people. Mostly locals around my age and they have all been really nice actually. It feels a bit crazy to think that there are only 3 weeks left of this internship. Considering how fast the last month or so passed I don't know if I'm ready to go home yet.
There are so many things that I've wanted to do that I haven't had the time to, and there are a lot of these things that I don't feel that I will be able to do sadly. I have been really enjoying the nightlife here, I've gone to some pretty cool clubs that all range from fairly priced to really expensive. I think it's important to take into consideration how much money you're going to bring over here, and it's also important to know how to manage it. I've been actually sort of freaking out because I thought I was spending a lot more money than I actually was with the eating out every day, but I was relieved when I saw my balance was way higher than expected.
I have been feeling somewhat down because I do eat out every day and I've stopped exercising. I think this is the point of the trip where you start to see the results of your lifestyle lol. My best advice is to watch what you're eating the whole time you are here. There are easily plenty of healthy options, where you can go for a fruit cup instead of a döner or a hamburger. Plenty of places offer salads and stuff. I just think this is important to add because I didn't really think about it much while I was doing it but now I wish I would've taken care of myself a little more. It's not a drastic weight gain or whatever but my face is also different. So make sure you drink a lot of water while you're here as well, even if it's from the tap.
There have been a couple of cool things going on over here, especially on the weekend there's always a festival-type thing going on at the Europa Center with games and food stands etc. It's right around the corner and they have music and a live band. It's really nice to go to. I didn't really get to take too many good pictures because it started pouring, but oh well.
Gaining this work experience is up there for the most rewarding thing form this internship. I've never worked an office job before but I feel really comfortable in this setting and I am starting to get to know some of my co-workers, they definitely make the day go by a lot faster. The work has also been really interesting and has required a lot of research. Right now we're gearing up for something big though don't know if I'm allowed to say. Anyway I will report back to y'all at some point this weekend. Have a nice weekend :p
PS: I tried some currywurst with fries and it was delicious.
