I'm so ready to experience new things abroad in Paris. The thought of Paris being my home for the next two months is beyond thrilling. As I wait on the gate on my way to Reykjavik, Iceland, I'm starting to feel it. I don't know what it is. I think it’s a mix of sleep deprivation from the excitement, homesickness and fright. Besides the internship, I'm extremely happy to improve my French. I fell in love with French the day I watched Home Alone back when I was in elementary school. It was then that I heard my first French words. I was so intrigued by its harmony and rhythm. It was music to my ears; pleasant and charming. I knew I had to learn the language.

I arrive at Paris at 6:00 in the morning. Some of the interns have already messaged each other and luckily I'll be meeting up somewhere in the airport and catching a cab to our home for the next two months. It may be silly, but the second I get to Paris, I'm buying bread and cheese.

Professionally, I believe I am making one of the best decisions by choosing this program. I'm so lucky that this summer I'll be gaining international work experience and improving my language skills while networking overseas by interning for a company located in a major economic center. Having to work with French people eight hours, five times a week and living in Paris is going to be such a wonderful yet challenging experience that I’m looking forward to. Academically, I expect to further my knowledge on the graphic design software.

I'm looking forward to a great memorable summer and I couldn't be more excited.
