Final Reflections

So I still can't get over the fact that I'm living in Europe (lol.) But these last two months have been such a whirlwind. I am still in Berlin, and it really wasn't something I expected to happen. I've been thinking a lot about Intrax, the people I've met, and the overall experience. I find myself missing my friends that went home a lot, and I miss my co-workers a lot even though we are still in the same city.

The other day I decided to watch The Bourne Identity and its sequels, and I had never seen them before. As soon as I heard them speaking German I geeked out. I had no idea some parts of the films took place in Germany, and when I saw a scene take place in Berlin at Alexanderplatz (A place I'm often at.) I just thought it was very surreal. Of course, I was also very excited to actually understand bits of German that were spoken in the film! :-)
It definitely feels strange being here now that everyone is gone, but at the same time, I think this opportunity has opened so many doors. I have some job interviews lined up for next week, so hopefully, I find something that sticks. Berlin has so many opportunities to meet new people, that I never really feel lonely here.

On my off-time I've gone exploring the city. I've gotten to know Kreuzberg and Prenzlauer Berg pretty well. I've spent the evening at Brandenberg Gate, visited the most famous Currywurst location in Berlin, and of course enjoyed the parties that seem never-ending in this city. There is always something to do and something to see. The days here have gotten a little chillier but it's still pretty nice weather.

Even if my job search here doesn't work out and I end up leaving Berlin, I think I will end up returning for a Masters. I've made a lot of friends here over the summer so I know that if I ever want to go back, I will. I know some of my fellow Intrax interns will want to come back whenever they get the chance as well. And I know one thing is for sure and that is that I will never forget my time here. It has honestly been a life-changing experience, and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

One of my main expectations, when I started to write this blog, was that I was going to come out of this a different person, and I think that I have. This has been a crazy chapter in my life and it's all thanks to this program. Attached are a couple of pictures I've been collecting while exploring the city in the last couple of days.
