The flight from New York to Paris was not so bad with a layover in Iceland. It was so beautiful! And apparently sometimes they have no nights. It was 12 am when I arrived, and the sun was still out. It was so beautiful!
3 hours later I was in Paris. The second I stepped off the airplane, I didn't feel any different. I felt like I never left New York City, but suddenly French-speaking people appeared in large numbers.
Paris reminds me so much of New York City. It is very urbanized and its population is very culturally and ethnically diverse. It was less than 24 hours, and I had already eaten 3 baguettes. I regret nothing. They were amazing! As tired and jet-lagged as we were, we had to go discover Paris. Some of the interns and I went to get cell phones and metro passes. Then we walked around Paris and that's when it happened. The Eiffel Tower appeared! That's when I felt like I was in Paris. Even though we saw it from far, we were so amazed by its beauty. The whole day was spent getting ready for our internships and getting to know each other. I met most of the interns, and we are definitely an awesome group!
