Hi all. Thank you for reading my blog! Before I get to blogging, I would like to just quickly introduce myself. My name is Taro and I am a rising senior at Brown University, majoring in Economics and East Asian Studies. I am half Japanese, half American. My father hails from southern Japan and my mother from rural Indiana. I have studied Japanese the past three years at Brown. I participated in a Japanese language program in Hakodate (located in Hokkaido, the northern island in Japan) this past summer. I am confident this summer in Japan will be just as spectacular and rewarding. Now, on to blogging!

My journey to Japan is fast approaching. Over the last couple of days, I have begun packing, running around getting work clothes, and finishing up other miscellaneous preparations for my trip. My temperament is ambivalent. I am more than excited to build a global resume, meet my fellow Japanese interns, and take full advantage of the opportunity Intrax and the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ have provided me. At the same time, it is always difficult to leave behind your loved ones and completely immerse oneself in a new environment.
