Still in Berlin

So its been a couple of days since I've been post-internship and I've been taking it easy and checking out nice places around Berlin to see what it has to offer. I forget if I have mentioned this, but on the last week of the program we had dinner at this place called "Cafe Am Neuen See" and I absolutely loved the location the last time I went, I decided that I had to go again. It is one of the nicest places I've seen in Berlin so far, as well as the most peaceful. You can just sit on a dock and watch people rowing their boats, or you can eat at the restaurant. I can't really describe it with words but I have some pictures to share. It was actually quite funny, a friend and I were sitting on the dock making a joke about someone we know. It pretty much went along the lines of me saying we'd bring him along and make him row us on the boat and literally within TWO seconds he shows up rowing a boat right in front of us. Crazy timing, we had no idea we'd be there. Berlin is weird in a way that you run into people a lot, even though this is a pretty big city. I just thought it was a pretty random place to run into someone, plus given the context it seemed like something taken out of a movie. Maybe it was a you had to be there thing. :p

Other than that I've been sending out my CV to places here. Still haven't heard anything back but I'm not going to let it discourage me. I do miss my co-workers and the friends I made with the program, though. The people I've kept in touch with are now at home and adjusting to life back in the states after a crazy two months. I can only imagine how they must be feeling right now. I feel like I would have reverse culture shock whenever I get back home. I'm hoping its not any time soon, though. I do have to say though, the more proper Berliners I meet the more I want to stay. A lot of the people I have encountered, even in the last couple of weeks, are so friendly that it definitely makes me enjoy my time here. There is a career fair going on here this week that I learned about through this type of networking, so I am going to go with a couple of copies of my CV and cover letters to check it out, which is something that Intrax stressed upon when we had our orientation (How important it was to create friendships/network with people living in the city.) I know its going to be a little difficult for me to find something solid, considering the fact that I don't speak German, but as I've stated before I consider this to be such a valuable life experience that I fell in love with this city and wish the program wouldn't have ended so fast! Anyway, before I continue rambling here are some pictures at this cafe, which is definitely worth checking out or taking family (Or a special someone?) to spend time with if they decide to visit you here from back home.
