As we near the last week of our London experience, my friends and I decide that we need to see everything we want to see before we leave. So as we sat on Primrose Hill, we made a list of must-hit spots.
We began by going to the horseraces at Ascot. We got all dressed up and arrived at a beautiful destination, complete with a carnival, gorgeous greenery and flowers, and an impressive racecourse. We discovered that I have some sort of horse telepathy because I was able to predict which horse would win each race, but unfortunately I myself did not do any betting. We had a great time nonetheless as we met interesting people and crossed this new experience off of our list!
The next day, we took a tour of Buckingham Palace. The rooms were decorated in unbelievable splendor, silk curtains, gold accents, and gifts from all over the world. I was so excited to see paintings by Rembrandt and Vermeer since they are two of my favorite artists. The Royal Childhood exhibition showcased the craziest toys given to royals, such as a working replica of a James Bond car with a fully functional smokescreen built by Aston Martin.
We continued to cross things off our list as we rode the London Eye at sunset and walked in the footsteps of the Beatles!
Wandering through a maze of alleyways, we visited the Lamb & Flag, a pub established a few hundred years ago that was frequented by Charles Dickens. It also received the nickname “The Bucket of Blood” for all the bare-knuckled fights that occurred there.
At work this week, we had Laura Zocca, Twenty 4 Seven, and Elyar Fox visit. I love when musicians come to the studio because I get to see what goes on behind the scenes of studio sessions and listen to good music! I only have a few more workdays with PopShack left, and I already know that I’m going to miss it.
I will be traveling somewhere in Europe this weekend, so I can’t wait to let you know what happens in next week’s blog post!
Thanks and gig’em!
