This weekend I decided to visit several of the places most often toured in Madrid. Two of these included The Prado and The Royal Palace. Living in Madrid it's easy to find yourself visiting the same local areas over and over, and skipping the ones which are tourist attractions. The Prado is located directly next to Cibeles, an area I have visited many times. It's electrifying to live near such important landmarks.

Once we got to the Prado, we set off to find the ticket booth. Happily, students are able to enter for free (Yet another fee I was able to avoid thanks to my student ID!). We spent about 2 hours touring the Prado. Luckily, two of my friends were well-educated in art history. We saw artists including Rafael and Velasquez. Their memorable paintings included Las Meninas, The Cardinal, and The Madonna and The Fish. Leaving The Prado, I felt like an educated art enthusiast.
